every time you install a FaceBook application it comes with a horde of pre-checked consent boxes. FaceBook itself may be making an effort to appear "decent", but its very lenient with its application partners.

Also, there are problems with information "seeping" through your contacts. Just today I accidentally violated a friend's privacy: she had an image in an album shared with friends. I thought it was beautiful, and posted it on my profile.
