Dear reader,
Copyright has been high on the agenda throughout 2009 both on a UK and EU level, with the Digital Britain Report, Content Online Platform, Pirate Bay decision and Digital Economy Bill, to name but a few examples. As the year draws to a close and we shift into 'reflective mode', you may be interested to read Laurie's article on our website, in which he pulls together the highlights from 2009 with a view to piecing together a snapshot of ‘where we are now with copyright and digital media law’.
We will follow up on many of these 'highlights' in 2010 and we will watch the progression of the various consultations, reviews and legislative initiatives (including the Digital Economy Bill) with particular interest.
On behalf of everyone at the firm, I'd like to wish you all the very best for the new year. I can think of one new year's resolution already and that will be to post more frequently!
Enjoy the festive break,
Yasmin Joomraty
